OpenADR 3 Certification Testing and Process
OpenADR 3 is a simplified RESTful version of the OpenADR protocol and therefore enables a simplified testing framework compared to version 2.0b.
The Alliance provides both a downloadable set of test assets for local testing and an online test tool for testing and certification. All certifications will be done with the Alliance online test tool.
Any member can access the online test tool at: https://test-tool.openadr.org. Alliance members may login using their Alliance username/password to view additional content such as a User Guide and test cases. Your username and password can be recovered at https://www.openadr.org/login#/login.
Alliance members may obtain testing and/or certification licenses from the Alliance. Test tool license: here Certification license: here
On purchase of a test tool license a member may request a download of test assets for local testing. These tests can be incorporated into a CI/CD pipeline or otherwise used during development of VEN or VTN products. A test license also grants a member access to the online test tool for testing purposes.
The certification test is executed online in the presence of a Certification Manager (CM). The CM is currently assigned by the Alliance but may be available from any OpenADR test lab in the future. The certification test requires a certification license for each tested system. The cost is USD $1,250 and includes 3 hours with the CM to prepare for testing and execute the final certification run.
On purchase of a certification license a Certification Manager will reach out to coordinate certification testing. The CM will need the following information prior to a certification test run: * OpenADR Alliance Username of the member that will log into the test tool to perform the certification * Member’s profile ID, displayed on test tool home page after login (center of the page below the heading) * The product ID (basically the product name of your implementation) * Manufacturer ID (your company name as it should appear on the certification)
The certification will then be scheduled via a conference bridge.
After successful testing, we will need the following information for the certification and web listing: - Declaration of Conformity (template will be provided) - Short marketing description of the product - Web link to product or company - Company logo (optional but recommended) - Product image, screenshot, or similar marketing picture (optional)
