OpenADR hosts first European User Conference

OpenADR Alliance hosts first European User Conference

Sponsored by Resillion

In a month, OpenADR Alliance will host its first European OpenADR++ User Conference.

Co-hosted by the UK Government’s Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the inaugural event will take place on 6 & 7 June 2023 in the heart of London and is aimed at electric utilities, energy service providers, policy makers and regulators, and control suppliers who share a common interest in standardized, automated demand response technology.

The final agenda is being put in place but is designed to help those responsible for Flexibility/DER program development or management to gain a better understanding of how the OpenADR standard is being applied in the electric utilities market and other distribution system reliability activities.

Already we have an exciting line up of speakers from across a range of industries and organizations over the two days covering a variety of topics in daily keynotes, use case presentations, panels and workshops. There will also be lots of opportunities to meet and greet and share experiences from across your various industries.

Agenda in brief:

  • Day 1 is kicked off by the Deputy Director for Net Zero Electricity Networks at BEIS, followed by a session with Pearlstone, Elaad, IPKeys and the Alliance to talk about OpenADR implementations in use today, including demand side response, grid-aware charging, and Flexibility in a Box, and an update on the Southern California Edison SCE Charge Ready Program. In the afternoon, an update on the new OpenADR 3.0 standard will be followed by a session on implementing OpenADR and other standards with EVoke Systems, EEBUS, Codibly and EcoPort.
  • Day 2 is kicked off by BEIS’s Laura Shade talking about smart appliances standards in the UK, followed by a session with IDSR (Interoperable Demand Side Response) program participants, including SysMech, Resillion and Centrica. In the afternoon, the OpenADR Alliance’s Don Dulchinos will discuss Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment as a growth area for OpenADR followed by a session on the challenges for EV management in Europe and an open discussion on standards.

We are very excited to bring this first European session to London in June and look forward to welcoming members, partners, and those from within the energy management industries.
