OpenADR Alliance in Action
The OpenADR Alliance earlier this month announced a new sponsor member, 40 certified products and growing global support of Open Automated Demand Response (OpenADR). New sponsor member, IPKeys is a strategic partner in the Federal, U.S. Department of Defense, Commercial and Energy sectors, delivering expertise in the definition, development, integration, and deployment of Internet Protocol (“IP”) technology and communications systems.
Global support of the OpenADR 2.0 profile specification became evident with the release of the publicly available specification (PAS) IEC/PAS 62746-10-1 by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). To view entire release visit http://www.openadr.org/new-sponsor-member-ipkeys
Automated Demand Response is a hot topic wherever you look and our members are on the move, putting AutoDR into action across the globe. @HoneywellGrid partook in a Navigant webinar earlier this month, on the anniversary of the Fukishima nuclear accident, which hones in on OpenADR 2.0 and why there is such a bright future for our standard and the OpenADR Alliance. Whether you caught it or missed it, the replay is a must share: Automated Demand Response: Technology Trends and Global Growth Drivers, http://bit.ly/AutoDRwNavigant
This week, Environmental Leader announced their Top Product & Project Awards 2014 and a few members were recognized: @EnerNoc for Energy Intelligence Software Platform @LockheedMartin for Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion I, @PowerAssure for their Software Defined Power Solution, and @SchneiderElec for enhancing a Sustainability Tool and creating the Higg Index 2.0. Putting automated demand response into action, achieving near real-time data, and focusing on renewable energy are all great ways to get noticed.
Next up on the event listing is the 15th PLMA Meeting next month. We look forward to seeing you there! To ensure we have the best content for our education and outreach efforts, it is imperative that we know what OpenADR projects and practices you are working on in as much detail as possible. Technical Update
OpenADR 2.0 Profile A and Profile B Approved as Entries to SGIP Catalog of Standards
The OpenADR 2.0A and B Profile Specifications have been approved by the members of SGIP to enter the Catalog of Standards (CoS). The CoS is a compendium of standards, practices, guidelines and other technical documents considered relevant for the development and deployment of a robust and interoperable Smart Grid. Many in the energy industry refer to standards in the CoS for implementation because of the rigorous, multi-part review performed by industry experts in the SGIP process.
